WHO WE ARE
A group of like-minded parents launched FUTR Action – MI. State laws, and therefore state politicians, have a significant impact on our families. The candidates we endorse are running in key, competitive races and have demonstrated a real commitment to equal rights, basic freedoms, and protecting Michigan’s children—especially transgender and non-binary kids who are increasingly being targeted by state legislation.
We’ve watched a range of harmful laws pass in other states—such as requiring teachers, by law, to refer to a child by their birth name and birth gender, even when the child, their parents, classmates, teachers and broader school community all affirm who they are. Policies like these don’t help schools or families; they isolate kids, override parents, and pull educators and children into conflicts they never sought. There are no winners under these laws. We cannot allow Michigan to follow that path.
FUTR Action – MI spun out of a parent support group. Many of us came together feeling helpless and under constant attack, watching our kids absorb fear and uncertainty about their safety and their future. These weren’t abstract policy debates for us. This coming November is a crossroads for our families.
Out of that fear, we chose Action!
